Top Ten Australian Weblogs on Blogdex
updated 1 July 2002
I have a feeling there are a few glaring omissions here, plus I'd also like to get this list up to 20, so I'm guessing at least 25 references will get a weblog in. If you see a likely candidate that's missing, email details of the URL to, ahem, vm(at)grudnuk(dot)com and I'll look it up.

1. Loobylu (193 + 23 = 216 links)

2. Waferbaby (162 + 16 = 178)

3. Tim Blair (141 + 19 = 160)

4. What's New Pussycat? (75 + 71 = 146)

5. Lukelog (118 + 10 = 128)

6. Wrongwaygoback (96 + 12 = 108)

7. Virulent Memes (83 + 24 = 107)

8. The Null Device (57 + 41 = 97)

9. Design Is Kinky (72 + 4 = 76)

10. So, Anyway (50 + 14 = 64)

Notes:
- links to alternate URLs are added where appropriate.
- My definition of weblog is fairly wide. If it smells like a weblog, looks like a weblog, tastes like a weblog, it's a weblog. Even if the maintainer insists it isn't.
- In the case of personal weblogs, the person keeping it has to be either an Australian or residing within Australia.
- In the case of collective weblogs, the bulk of the content must be generated by persons satisfying the previous condition.
- This is not a big hits contest or a best weblog ranking; rather, Blogdex tends to count historical data indefinitely. Ultimately, it doesn't means much.
